Scientists have identified the Common Blackbird’s song as the most pleasing to human listeners, according to a new study in *Frontiers in Bird Science*. Researchers measured frequency, volume, and structural complexity across several bird species and found the blackbird’s melody consistently scored highest on all three metrics. The findings suggest that the bird’s balanced pitch, moderate loudness, and intricate phrasing align with human auditory preferences, offering fresh insight into why certain bird calls are more enjoyable than others.
The findings indicated the Common Blackbird's song is the most pleasant because it hits the ideal range across every key metric: frequency (pitch), amplitude (volume) and song structure (complexity), according to a study published Tuesday in "Frontiers in Bird Science."
