A historic six-boat fleet of IMOCA-class monohulls has departed New York, marking the start of the offshore leg for the inaugural edition of The Ocean Race Atlantic. This non-stop, 3,000-nautical-mile race will see crews navigate from the U.S. East Coast toward the Azores, testing endurance and strategy in one of the most challenging offshore passages. The event serves as a qualifying race for The Ocean Race, offering a taste of the extreme conditions sailors will face in future editions. With no prior edition of this Atlantic crossing, the race promises to set new benchmarks in solo offshore sailing.
