A notorious vagrant camp near the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City is rapidly transforming into a makeshift Skid Row, with law enforcement efforts to address the issue being severely hampered by a new policy. According to reports, the "more humane" approach championed by Mayor Eric Adams' administration, led by Mayor's Office of Criminal Justice Commissioner, Louisa Mamdani, has instructed police officers to prioritize de-escalation techniques over swift intervention. Critics argue that this policy has created a vacuum, allowing the camp's population to swell and the area to become increasingly squalid. As the situation continues to deteriorate, residents and business owners in the surrounding area are calling for a more effective solution to address the growing crisis.
