As the unofficial start to summer, Memorial Day Weekend marks the beginning of the busy season for New York City's iconic beaches. However, Mother Nature had other plans this year, bringing a chilly and rainy forecast to the city's shores. Despite the inclement weather, city officials announced that all 14 beaches in the five boroughs are now open to the public, offering a chance for beachgoers to soak up the sun - or at least try to - amidst the gloomy conditions. With temperatures struggling to reach the mid-50s, beach visitors can expect a cool and wet experience, but that hasn't deterred the die-hard fans of the city's beaches.
