New oversized trash bins, known as Empire Bins, have been installed in Brooklyn Heights as part of the city’s ongoing effort to modernize waste management through containerization. The initiative aims to streamline trash collection and improve sanitation by consolidating waste into larger, standardized containers. Residents and officials have described the project as a "transformative" step toward more efficient and cleaner streets. The rollout follows similar deployments in other neighborhoods as the city expands its waste infrastructure upgrades.
